On Cinco de Mayo, Ziggymoto will perform ‘Latin is Dead,’ featuring Latin music interpretations of songs from the Grateful Dead’s catalog. The band will bring Cuban, Jamaican, and Caribbean grooves to the songs of ‘The Dead’, making this Pour House deck show an inevitable dance party!
Ziggymoto is Charleston’s freshest ‘Worldbeat’ band, melding influences from African, Cuban, and Caribbean traditional music to their eclectic and unique style. The band is made up of some of Charleston’s most versatile musicians; Tyler Ross on guitar (Charleston Jazz Orchestra and the CofC Faculty Jazz Ensemble), Gerald Gregory on piano (Charleston Jazz Orchestra and the CofC Faculty Jazz Ensemble), Jake Holwegner on bass (countless local bands), and Steven Sandifer on drums and percussion (Dangermuffin).
* Show is for all ages. Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Attendees under 21 will be subject to a $5 surcharge. The surcharge must be paid in cash at the door on the day of the event.
