The Dirty Dozen Brass Band
Celebrating over 45 years since their founding in 1977, the GRAMMY Award-winning New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band has taken the traditional foundation of brass band music and incorporated it into a blend of genres, including bebop jazz, funk and R&B/soul. This unique sound, described by the band as a “musical gumbo”, has allowed the Dirty Dozen to tour across five continents and more than thirty countries, record twelve studio albums and collaborate with a range of artists from Modest Mouse to Widespread Panic to Norah Jones. Forty-five plus years later, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band is a world-famous music machine whose name is synonymous with genre-bending romps and high-octane performances.

“THE HISTORY OF THE DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND
In 1977, The Dirty Dozen Social Aid and Pleasure Club in New Orleans began showcasing a traditional Crescent City brass band. It was a joining of two proud, but antiquated, traditions at the time: social aid and pleasure clubs dated back over a century to a time when black southerners could rarely afford life insurance, and the clubs would provide proper funeral arrangements. Brass bands, early predecessors of jazz as we know it, would often follow the funeral procession playing somber dirges, then once the family of the deceased was out of earshot, burst into jubilant dance tunes as casual onlookers danced in the streets. By the late ’70s, few of either existed.
The Dirty Dozen Social Aid and Pleasure Club decided to assemble this group as a house band, and over the course of these early gigs, the seven-member ensemble adopted the venue’s name: The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.”
The Snozzberries
Hi-Energy Psychedelic Prog-Fusion Rock from Asheville, NC
The Snozzberries are an undeniable force of raw musical power, a constantly evolving band laser-focused on pushing boundaries. Their huge, distinct sound is a sonic voyage, epitomized by hi-energy psychedelia, progressive rock, and deep-fried funk. Praised by Rolling Stone as a “jubilant rock act,” The Snozzberries are a rising star in the worlds of psych, prog and jam.
The Asheville, NC based rock group has always emphasized engaging with their audience through tight musical arrangements and improvisational exploration. Delving deeper into a new era of progressive fusion-based storytelling, The Snozzberries are ready to nourish the masses with their infectious riffs and memorable vocal harmonies.
In November 2024, The Snozzberries released their new self-titled album to rave reviews. Described by Grateful Web as “a gift for all progressive music fans,” The Snozzberries is a cosmic journey, channeling dark psych rock, thrash metal, funk and soul to weave a tapestry of love, loss and redemption. Prog Magazine praised the album as “Pushing the envelope in energy, chaos and breadth…An exuberant collection of tasty grooves and kaleidoscopic jams.”
On a hot streak of creativity, the band recently released “Durt Nap” and “Just After 2” the first in a series of live-studio singles. Each of these new singles has been recorded, mixed and mastered by the band’s drummer Logan Jayne at his home studio, and all feature an accompanying music video. Fans can anticipate seeing these new releases every few weeks for the rest of 2025.
The Snozzberries notably thrive as a live ensemble, so much that Live For Live Music wrote “the band delivered a hard-hitting set that raged against the elements and was a worthwhile reason for many – including this reporter – to get soaked.” They have wowed audiences at festivals including Hulaween, Summer Camp, Resonance, Sweetwater 420 Fest, Warren Haynes Xmas Jam By Day, AVLFest and more. They have shared the stage with bands such as Papadosio, Perpetual Groove, Here Come The Mummies, and Big Something and have played official afterparties for Umphrey’s McGee, The Disco Biscuits and Lotus.
