Come out and enjoy music by Lindsay Holler, Bill Carson, and Nathan & Eva at the Pour House
on Maybank Highway, September 23. All proceeds will benefit the Carolina Youth Action
Project (Girls Rock Charleston). The Carolina Youth Action Project uses music as a vehicle for social change and builds power among girls and transgender youth in Charleston, South
Carolina. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the El Bohio foodtruck.
Additional information about the Carolina Youth Action Project will also be available at a booth during the event.
The event was organized by Eva Leach, a rising senior at the Academic Magnet High School.
The concert was not only created as a project for school, but was also created to bring together local musicians to support young female and LGTBQ+ musicians and artists. Eva got the idea for the concert from her love of music, and especially “the idea of using music as a method of empowering women and minority groups”. She will be playing with her sibling duo band, Nathan & Eva, along with her mentor Bill Carson and local singer Lindsay Holler.
Bill Carson is an avid local musician and elementary school teacher with a dedication to helping the Charleston community. Lindsay Holler is a graduate musician from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Each band will play a 45 minute set, and will finish the evening playing a small set together in honor of the Carolina Youth Action Project.
