Becca Smith was born and raised in South Carolina and has been singing since her days in the crib. At just 8 years old, she penned her first original song. Not long after, she picked up the guitar and began playing big shows on school nights, opening for acts like Sequoyah Prep School, All Get Out, and Mel Washington.
Smith took a break during her college years, where she graduated Cum Laude from the College of Charleston, gaining two Bachelor’s degrees in German and Arts Management. It was only after school that Smith really buckled down to give music a chance.
Her genuine spirit and tenacity are a breath of fresh air for the South Carolina music scene. From poppy, upbeat melodies to lyrics with real substance, Smith believes in the meaning of her music and isn’t afraid to share it. With a country twang ever-present in her voice, Smith is as charming as she is talented.
Smith will release her debut album, entitled I-26, in July of 2018. Recorded with James Frolio and mastered by Jeremy Lubsey of Truphonic Studios, the album is independently produced, boasting twelve original songs that are sure to woo audiences young and old. Musical heroes like Cary Ann Hearst, James Taylor, and Sheryl Crow can be heard as influences throughout Smith’s recording debut, but her originality, classic style, and power-house voice are enough to keep us wrapped around her finger.
